– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

As Hugo was climbing the ladder of swimrun elite, it has become more and more complex racing competitively together without arming too much of his pace. Since we learnt the creation of OWR, we always believed this would be the perfect race to bring our duo back and have spent numerous hours following the previous editions, projecting ourselves in the race. Seeing Désie and Lars being motivated to join us in this attempt made us both very excited about it and we are very much looking forward to it assuming we get selected.

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

I have not.

– What are your strengths?

Focused, organized, multitasked, determined.

– What are your weaknesses?

Competitor.

– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?

Helping the team with route choice will be one of the main challenges as, despite a good general sense of distance and orientation, I have never done any orienteering race. I also believe one of my key roles will be to keep the spirit high while making sure everyone nails the nutrition plan and keeps moving forward.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?

I have been there numerous times, sailing, training and racing. Stockholm archipelago is a big challenge from both a running (technical trails, slippery rocks, limited straight lines…) and swimming point of view (cold water, sea stream) but it’s the best place to experience a swimrun at its finest!

– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?

Helping those great people reach Landsort would probably be one of my greatest memories.
