– Race experience
I love challenging my body and I’m not one to give up. During my first half Ironman, I crashed after 45 km on the bike, dislocated my shoulder, got a flat tire, ran 8 km carrying my bike, received a replacement wheel, and completed the race with bleeding feet. This experience shows that I’m not someone who gives up easily.
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
I want to get my revenge after being forced to withdraw from One Water Race this year due to being stung by a wasp. I have since begun treatment that reduces my risk of a severe allergic reaction by 90–95%. In addition to revenge, I want to experience the feeling of achievement with a team of like-minded people and once again experience the unique team dynamics that emerge during a challenge like this.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
My run from Stockholm to Gothenburg in minus 20 degrees and my participation in Elitstyrkans Hemligheter were true adventures. After competing in One Water Race this year I developed a taste for swimrun and won several swimrun races afterwards.
– What are your strengths?
My greatest strength is that I leave nothing to chance. When I commit to an A-race, I think through every possible aspect of preparation and I never give up. I have also experienced 27 hours of One Water Race and learned a great deal from it.
– What are your weaknesses?
One significant weakness has been my lack of self-confidence related to English. My dyslexia made it difficult to learn fluent English, which affected both my personal life and sporting career. I have improved significantly during the past year, but still have work to do.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Maintaining calm and finding a sustainable rhythm from the start. I also need to adapt my movement through terrain to the abilities of my teammates and make smart route choices as a team.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
I spent a lot of time in the Stockholm archipelago preparing for this year’s race. The experience allowed me to become very comfortable navigating the terrain. I find the archipelago both beautiful and challenging, offering a variety of landscapes and terrain types.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
I’m looking forward to helping my team navigate correctly across the islands and successfully complete this amazing challenge together by reaching the lighthouse. I also want to experience the real race fatigue that I unfortunately never reached this year.
