– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

I want to participate in One Water Race because I’ve been missing a new challenge since I retired as a professional long-distance triathlete in 2024. Over the past few years, I’ve watched the live broadcasts and felt that this is the ultimate challenge. This is a challenge I really want to take on.

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

No, I have never taken on this type of challenge before. I have completed many long-distance triathlons, but I have never raced for more than 13 hours.

– What are your strengths?

One of my key strengths is my running ability. With a marathon time of 3:02 during an Ironman, I hold the second-fastest female Ironman marathon time in Sweden. Another significant strength is my mental resilience. Through countless hours of training and long-distance racing, I have developed effective strategies to overcome challenges as they arise. Over the past 10 years, I have never had a DNF. I am also great at multitasking, successfully balancing a full-time job as a teacher and researcher at Lund University with family life, managing two children, a household, and a demanding training schedule.

– What are your weaknesses?

My weaknesses are that I do not have any experience with competitions over several days and I don’t have much experience with swimming in cold water.

– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?

My biggest challenge in this race will be staying awake for two nights, as I have never previously exposed myself to that level of fatigue. At the same time, this is exactly what I’m looking forward to challenging myself with.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?

Yes, I have been to the Stockholm archipelago. I competed in ÖtillÖ Utö in 2021 together with Josefine Jangvert, which was an amazing experience. I love the environment with its cliffs and forests. The terrain is challenging but at the same time incredibly fun to run and swim in. One of the most beautiful races I have ever done.

– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?

What I’m most looking forward to is pushing through the fatigue and the nights, and together with my team making it all the way to the finish line. I’m also looking forward to doing this as part of a team, since I’m more used to competing alone. Being able to support each other and lift one another when things get tough is something I truly look forward to.
