– Race experience

Participated in more than 10 long-distance adventure races and several ultramarathons. Competed in orienteering for over 40 years. Trained ship officer with extensive navigation experience in the Stockholm archipelago. Have worked and lived in the archipelago for several years. Participated in One Water Race 2023 and 2024.

– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

For One Water Race 2026, we bring all the experience from previous years and continue to develop our weaknesses so that we can finally reach the lighthouse at Landsort on our third attempt. I also really appreciate the strong sense of community that surrounds the race. It feels like everyone is part of the same journey — before, during, and after the competition — including both racers and support crews.

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

One Water Race 2023-2025. Several long-distance adventure races.

– What are your strengths?

With experience from two previous One Water Races, I feel even more confident in my ability to support the team and make sound route and strategy decisions based on changing conditions and team status. I am good at helping the team move past setbacks, turning negative feelings into positive momentum and keeping everyone focused on what lies ahead. I particularly enjoy the strategic aspect of the race, and this is an area where we will continue to improve and develop.

– What are your weaknesses?

Before previous races, I was concerned about how I would handle sleep deprivation, but I learned that I manage it well. One weakness is that I am not a strong swimmer myself, which means I sometimes rely more heavily on feedback from the athletes regarding swim-specific challenges.

– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?

From experience, both the team and I know that One Water Race is fundamentally a strategy competition. One of my biggest challenges will be maintaining clear communication with the team at all times and continuously understanding their physical and mental condition so that we can make the best possible decisions throughout the race.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?

I am very familiar with both the Stockholm archipelago and its terrain. The environment is beautiful but extremely demanding, requiring careful planning, good navigation, and respect for changing weather and water conditions.

– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?

Having completed the race twice before, I truly believe that we will perform much better this time. We learned an incredible amount from our previous experiences and will arrive at the starting line even better prepared. My respect for the race has only grown over the years, but so has my confidence. Thanks to the experience we have gained, I believe we are much better equipped to meet the challenges ahead and make a serious push toward Landsort.
