– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?

We want to do One Water Race because it represents the purest form of endurance: navigating the unknown, pushing through exhaustion, and relying fully on each other. The combination of cold water, rugged terrain, darkness, and nonstop racing demands not only strength but strategy, resilience, and teamwork. We are driven by the challenge of staying sharp when tired, supporting one another through the hardest moments, and discovering how strong we can be as a united team. This race inspires growth, purpose, and the shared pursuit of reaching the lighthouse together.

– Which strengths make your team capable of succeeding in a race like this?

Our team’s strength lies in the balance of experience, resilience, and complementary skills. Marika brings exceptional multi-day endurance and a calm, structured mindset under pressure. Rickard adds elite swimming ability, speed, and fresh hunger for long-format racing. Alexander contributes unmatched swimrun experience, long-swim durability, and positive energy that keeps the team moving forward. Together, we combine toughness, strategy, communication, and trust — key qualities for navigating cold water, complex terrain, and 60 hours of nonstop racing as one united team.

– What are your weaknesses or areas of concern in this type of challenge?

As a team, our main areas of concern involve navigation, managing sleep deprivation, and balancing physical differences. Navigation is still a developing skill for us and will require focused preparation. The extreme length of the race, combined with cold water and continuous movement, will challenge our ability to stay sharp and make good decisions. We also need to manage pace and efficiency despite different body types and strengths. Staying awake, coordinated, and consistent for 60 hours will be a significant test for all three of us.

– What goals does your team have for participating in One Water Race?

We aim to reach the lighthouse together, knowing we raced with purpose, intention, and our absolute best effort.

– Have you raced together as a team before? If yes, in what races?

Yes, parts of our team have raced and trained together before. Marika and Alexander have raced multiple swimrun events together and already have strong teamwork, communication, and race experience as a pair. Alexander and Rickard are close training partners who regularly explore long sessions and new endurance adventures together in the Gothenburg area, building trust, understanding, and shared rhythm. While the three of us haven’t raced as a full trio yet, we already have strong connections and a solid foundation to grow into a unified team.

– Is there anything else you would like to share?

We simply want to share how grateful and inspired we are to take on this journey together. One Water Race gives us a chance to grow, challenge ourselves, and discover what’s possible when three people move with one purpose. We’re driven by curiosity, teamwork, and the desire to stand at the lighthouse knowing we earned every meter — together.
