Q&A
– What other experiences do you have that demonstrates your competence and ability to complete One Water Race?
30 years of endurance sports; bike, XC-skiing, ultra running, ski mountaineering and soon 10y of swimrun have made me love long races. The longer, higher and trickier terrain, the better. Love rocks, bumpy waters, altitude and terrible terrain! And last but not least, a passion, experience and conviction for building and joining high performing teams.
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
In 2023 I was mainly driven by the passion for nature, the extreme endurance challenge and the team experience.
Looking at 2024, I now know that the course is possible to conquer and my focus has now shifted towards competition! To evaluate, sharpen the team and make use of all experience in order to race against the top teams.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
The epic One Water Race 2023 and multiple ultra running, skyraces and long swimruns
– What are your strengths?
The positive attitude with a distinct focus on team performance and collaboration. The joy of being in nature, leading to energy for the team and never giving up.
Very strong ultra runner, I will be able to help the team in though times and when we need a high speed.
– What are your weaknesses?
Still lacking the extensive experience and confidence in complex orienteering. Sharpening skills as we speak.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Minimize orienteering mistakes and manage the cold.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
After OWR2023, Swimrun races over the last 10 years with 5 ÖtillÖ-races and long safari training sessions in the archipelago I have learned that Swimrun is the best way to experience nature. The opportunity for going point-to-point in the archipelago is mind blowing, wet, and life-changing.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
To put a sharpened team on the starting line and slam the Lighthouse door as winners!
