TEAM 4 – SWEDEN, a team with a passion for nature, adventure, and teamwork. Their main strength is working well together and getting the best out of each other, convinced that a team can be stronger than the sum of its members. With trust and communication, they make the best possible performance. Coming back to OWR for the second time, they are now determined to be more prepared than ever, with a sharp focus and a more competitive mindset.
– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?
Our team is excited to participate again in 2024 and showcase the progress we have made, to ourselves, to the audience and the other teams. Over the time since we finished on Järflotta and over the time to come we have dedicated ourselves to improving our skills and knowledge in preparation for this race. Through analysis of previous races our own and others, we have identified areas for improvement and implemented new strategies to enhance our performance, in training, as a team and in the plan for the race. With this newfound understanding, we can shift our focus to the other teams and be more competitive. We believe that our dedication and growth will make us strong contenders in the race.
– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?
We now know we have both the speed and the endurance that we need, and the ability to seamlessly help each other when needed. Our challenge is to minimize the errors of navigation and mostly have more confidence in the navigation to maintain flow and movement throughout the race but especially in the beginning. We want to improve our teamwork and support of each other even more to achieve this.
– What are your goals in participating in One Water Race?
Last year, our focus was to conquer the course and gain experience. This year, with the knowledge and experience we have acquired, we approach the race with a different mindset. We understand the course and the race better, and we now have the confidence to navigate it while still maintaining respect for its challenges. With our improved skills and strategies we are ready to compete at a higher level. We look forward to the opportunity to participate in the race and contribute to the excitement and competitiveness of the event. Our ultimate goal is to reach the lighthouse first!
