Since 2000, I have dozens of expedition races around the world, non-stop and staged (for example: 3 x Eco Challenge, 8 x Volcano Challenge, 10 x Ecomotion Pro, 5 x Adventure Race World Championship, 17 x Adventure Race World Series, 4 x Raid Gaspésie). I have also been a short, medium, and long-distance triathlete, trail runner, open water swimmer, rower, road and mountain biker, navigator for the Uruguay Ultra Sports team for 20 years.

Being captain of the Uruguay Ultra Sports team I have won and achieved podiums in expedition races in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, USA, Mexico, Canada, Turkey, and Portugal.

– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

It is a challenge equal to the most important that I have faced in my sporting life. Since I found out about the project, I said to myself "I must be there".

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

No. I have participated in multiple expeditions and adventure races around the world, but this is something new. We will be pioneers.

– What are your strengths?

I can be fast and very resistant in all the disciplines that I train. I endure pain, thirst, hunger, and sleep deprivation for days. I'm a survivor.

– What are your weaknesses?

High temperatures can take me out of the competitive state and into the survival state.

– What will be your biggest challenge?

Regardless of the type of terrain, long distances or adverse weather, the most difficult part of OWR will be facing the 9 teams that will be on the starting line. They will be formidable, for sure.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago?

Not yet.

– What do you know/think about the terrain?

The Baltic in summer will be very changeable, those clear waters will sometimes be friendly and other times raging. Some islands will be wild.

– What are you most looking forward to?

I expect a very competitive race, with a full throttle start and everyone adapting to a new modality. I also hope to see one of the most beautiful places in the world.
