Q&A
– What other experiences do you have that demonstrates your competence and ability to complete One Water Race?
All of my experience is in multi day Ultra running, Ultra cycling and Ultratriathlon
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
I want to test my ultimate limit of mental and physical endurance.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
None this extreme that includes swimming.
– What are your strengths?
I’m experienced in multi day ultra events, as well as ultra running. I live on the US East Coast, with the Atlantic Ocean, so I am comfortable with open water swimming.
– What are your weaknesses?
I’m certainly not as experiencing in adventure and SwimRun racing as my teammates. I’m also the weakest swimmer on the team, so will have to rely on my endurance over my speed.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
The swim volume will be my greatest challenge to prepare for.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
I’ve never been to Europe.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
I’m looking forward to the mental challenges that will coincide with the physical challenges. Management of fatigue and emotion within the team will be one of the greatest challenges and I look forward to working through that with our team.
