– Race experience
With my experience of adventure racing and one earlier participation in One Water Race, I will do my absolute best to guide and support this super-team. I have experience navigating at sea, both day and night, from kayaking and boating, although not yet in a race setting. For 25 years I have participated in orienteering races for fun. I love maps and being in nature.
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
I know from experience how important thoughtful and skilled support is in One Water Race. I get lots of energy just from the thought of being one small piece in the big puzzle that helps Hanna, Johan and Mattias reach the lighthouse at Landsort. And it is a fantastic race organized by fantastic people.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
Yes, similar. I have often taken the support role within teams while racing.
– What are your strengths?
I become my best when the goal is to help someone else. Endurance.
– What are your weaknesses?
I need more experience navigating swims at night. Ability to sit still on a boat. Potential seasickness. Cold hands.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
As mentioned, I will practice a lot with my kayak compass to navigate at sea during the night.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
Yes. I love it, especially the remote islands.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
The team spirit of sharing this experience together. The early mornings when the sun rises over the sea and the world awakens around us. And the end of the second night when the real race begins and tactical decisions have to be made together with three zombies.
