– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
Life is too short to wonder what if, I am not getting any younger, now or never. This race is about pushing myself (ourselves) to my limits, and entering a race that we may not finish has an allure that’s hard to explain. As I have got older, I look at things differently – I am no longer obsessed with how fast I can go or how long, but its about the journey to get there and the adventure, and doing it with a team of like minded people.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
Not that similar, but Marathon Des Sables 2017.
– What are your strengths?
Being part of a small team (not wanting to let my team down) I may not be the quickest in the group, but i keep going. Navigation, motivation. Endurance in various conditions.
– What are your weaknesses?
Doubting my own abilities.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Sleep deprivation & what comes with it, extreme tiredness, cognitive abilities. Testing my self to that absolute limit, and of course the unknown.
