– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

Participating in the inaugural edition (2022) of the One Water race was a life changing experience for me. Even though my team didn’t finish, this challenge changed my perceptions of my own limits and ability to endure. I want to do this again, with more wisdom and experience, with the goal of finishing the challenge this time around.

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

Yes; One Water 2022. I have many competitive running, swimming, mountaineering, and swimrunning races but nothing is similar to the challenge of One Water.

– What are your strengths?

Running, swimming, general fitness and athletics, physical endurance, mental endurance, and the ability to embrace the challenge with a positive attitude and optimism when the going gets tough.

– What are your weaknesses?

Lack of orienteering and route-finding experience and lack of multi-day racing experience are my biggest weaknesses in this race.

– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?

I think that two things jump out to me that will be my key challenges in the race. One, managing the body for an extended race, including skin chafe, sleep deprivation, and body temperature. Two, my racing career has been focused on individual races, so managing the team dynamics and figuring out how to keep good team chemistry and morale throughout such a long race will be an important challenge for me in this race.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?

Yes. The terrain is incredible. I love the granite rocks rising out of the ocean. It is an obvious swimrun mecca as soon as you set foot in the terrain. It is beautiful and rugged, a perfect place to explore the limits of human capacity.

– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?

The opportunity to be a part of such a special experience with amazing people. I obviously look forward to me and my team’s individual race experience and the opportunity to explore my personal limits but even more than that, I look forward to being around all the other teams and race organizers and being a part of such an amazing event and challenge.
