Q&A
– What other experiences do you have that demonstrates your competence and ability to complete One Water Race?
I've been active in Swimrun since 2012, participating in various races worldwide, both short and long. OWR stands out as it is a very long race and it requires orienteering skills, which I've tried to practice more in the past two years with races in the Swedish mountains. I've also tackled sections of the course from Arholma to Landsort and took part in OWR 2023.
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
After getting injured in OWR 2023, I'm determined for revenge. I'm highly motivated to complete the course, pushing my limits alongside my strong teammates. Plus, racing for a good cause makes it even more meaningful.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
Yes, OWR 2023, although our team were unable to reach the finish line. However, as a team, we acquired valuable experience that will significantly enhance our readiness for this year's competition.
– What are your strengths?
I am a strong swimrunner. My best strength is the swimming since I at young age was an elite swimmer and I am good in navigating in open water. Always swims straight. I am also a strong endurance runner and can keep on going for a very long time.
– What are your weaknesses?
During the OWR 2023 I had problems to sustain a high energy level throughout the race and to stay warm during the long cold swims in complete darkness.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Maintain sufficient energy and avoid becoming too cold. Also, the swim in complete darkness is a challenge to navigate and we are completely dependant on our support member.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
Yes, many times and I just love the environment. I am fascinated by islands, and I think that is why I fell in love with Swimrun. The Stockholm archipelago contains thousands of islands and if you do swimrun you can just go whereever you want.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
We had a good teamspirit last year, both before and during the OWR 2023. I'm excited to continue being part of this team and it is not just about the One Water Race; it's the entire journey leading up to our ultimate goal – reaching the Landsort lighthouse. After giving it a shot the first time, we're eager to try again and seek revenge.
