About

TEAM 1 – SWEDEN (2023)

A team with long experience in endurance racing, with the Stockholm archipelago as their backyard. Pär, Annika and Joakim have a great track record in triathlon and swimrun and have done large sections of the course before. With Henrik’s navigation and multisport skills, they are a complete team to take on the adventure of one of the world’s toughest races.

They have all spent countless hours training and racing across and between the islands of the archipelago. To them, the One Water Race is the ultimate challenge both as an adventure and as a race.

“We also share the urgency to raise the awareness of the risk to our waters. Today we already have plenty of water refugees and it will just increase with the ongoing climate change. The One Water Race is a great way to inspire people to accomplish things that at first may seem impossible”.

– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?

To conquer the challenge and to do it for a good cause. We are an experienced team with the archipelago in our backyard. All of us have spent countless hours training and racing across and between the islands of the archipelago. To us, The One Water Race is the ultimate challenge both as an adventure and as a race. Moreover, we share the urgency to raise the awareness of the risk to our waters. Today we already have plenty of water refugees and it will just increase with the ongoing climate change. The One Water Race is a great way to inspire people to accomplish things that at first may seem impossible.

– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?

To keep warm throughout the race and maintain momentum on the second and third?! day. We all have our individual strengths and weaknesses, but they are complementary so if we can work together as a team and help each other we have a good chance to overcome the challenges.

– What are your goals in participating in One Water Race?

Our team focus is to finish the race, have fun and enjoy the journey. It will not be a walk in the park, but we are up for the challenge. We don’t expect to be the fastest team from the gate, but we are resilient and with a good strategy, execution and teamwork we believe that we can stay competitive in the long run.
