Q&A
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
This is a very unique race and a very exciting challenge. I always enjoy trying out new events and getting to explore places I have not yet been. The one water race ticks all these boxes and I am always a sucker to say yes to any extreme endurance challenge.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
Essentially - No! This is certainly the most amount of swimming in a single race I will have done but the components of teamwork and endurance are much more familiar elements that should serve me well for this event
– What are your strengths?
The ability to keep on pushing through no matter the circumstances. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
– What are your weaknesses?
I know and tell a lot of cringe worthy Dad jokes and riddles will keep my teammates distracted. And I am pretty tone deaf when it comes to singing but this does not stop my singing to keep us awake in long races.
– What will be your biggest challenge?
Finding enough time to add swimming training to an already busy family and work schedule but the hard work will pay rewards when we reach the start line.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago?
No, but I am very excited to explore this area that I have heard so much about
– What do you know/think about the terrain?
I haven’t been to Sweden before, but the pictures of the archipelago look amazing.
– What are you most looking forward to?
Swimming is a sport I’ve always enjoyed, but in Adventure Races we normally only swim to get from one side of a river to the other. It’s great to have some motivation to get back into swimming and see how well we can go.
