Launches New Live Studio at Sea

From August 19–21, ten elite mixed teams from seven countries will compete in One Water Race, a 250 km non-stop challenge of running, swimming, and orienteering through the rugged Stockholm Archipelago. This extreme race – recognised as the world’s toughest – tests the absolute limits of human endurance, with a USD 100,000 prize pool.

New for 2025: TV4 will broadcast the world’s longest live sports coverage – 65 hours nonstop – following every moment and every athlete in One Water Race across the Stockholm Archipelago. This pioneering format, where Slow TV meets extreme sport, captures real human drama and endurance in real time and is distributed to 190 countries over five continents. Nothing staged – only raw, authentic performance.

The broadcast will be anchored from Studio Briggen, a brand-new floating studio aboard the historic sailing ship Briggen Tre Kronor, positioned in the heart of the archipelago. Renowned Swedish sports journalist Jonas Karlsson will lead the coverage, joined by guests and experts who will analyse team progress, strategies, and the extraordinary challenges faced during the race. Jonas has more than 25 years experience of live sports coverage and has among other things hosted the last three Olympic Games.

We will go deep into the details and challenges, analysing the teams’ progress together with experts and exploring what they are going through. One Water Race is a unique competition with so many stages and challenges – especially over such a long period of time – and there is so much to discuss and analyse,” says Jonas Karlsson.

Produced by NEP Group and distributed to 190 countries, the broadcast is the world’s longest continuous sports live stream. Viewers can follow every step and stroke as teams navigate from Arholma to Landsort, choosing their own route via mandatory checkpoints.
