– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

As a coach, I have coached many athletes to Ultra races which has certainly sparked an interest in me – luring me away from my triathlon life. This race has a combination of many factors which appeal. The in-out nature of the race, the terrain, the swimming in the dark and the teamwork element of the race and all that whilst becoming more and more exhausted. I love to learn and try new things and this, I know will challenge my body and my mind (simply getting there let alone the race itself), I know I have a lot of things to learn along the way, which I am looking forward to.

– Have you taken a similar challenge before?

Honestly, NOPE! But that is why it is appealing to me.

– What are your strengths?

Determination, the will to never give up on things, belief in myself and others, swimming open water, team work.

– What are your weaknesses?

My navigation skills are my weakness – but I will do my very best to improve them from now until then.

– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?

Sleep deprivation and the lack of cognitive abilities due to that! Keeping everyone in a good place and recognising symptoms arising before they develop into something worse.

– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?

No, never! Looks stunning from what I have seen of this year’s race. There are parts which look difficult but manageable. I will be competing at UTO 2025 with the rest of the team to also get a taste.

– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?

The uniqueness of the race. The fact it is over 3 days and how we as a team are going to manage/ overcome hurdles that arise. How we are going to manage the tiredness over the time and dynamics of the team as we may develop and change.
