After a challenging debut in OWR 2024, Team 8 – Sweden returns with valuable experience and renewed determination. Alexander Berggren, an elite triathlete and outstanding swimmer, brings speed and endurance. Helen Wikmar is an unstoppable force, thriving in tough conditions. Anders radiates positivity and has a natural talent for orienteering —his commitment to sharpening his navigation skills will be key in 2025. Nanna, the team’s structured and methodical support crew and navigator, ensures precision and keeps everything running smoothly. With a well-balanced team, hard-earned lessons, and a drive to push further, they are ready to take on One Water Race 2025!

– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

We have what it takes to make it all the way and be a contender for the podium even if our main goal is to reach the door at the Lighthouse at Landsort. Directly after the race last year we sat down and analyzed what we can do to improve as this race is really one of a kind! We identified a good number of improvements regarding nutrition, equipment, orienteering, energy intake, tactics, motivation and always having a plan B. We thought the race would force us to dig really deep but we had an amazing experience for a very long time. A lot of people told us that the race actually would start after 36 hrs so we are very happy we had 2 hrs of the actual race!! But we want more. We thought we had a good idea what the race was about but understood it is a beast of its own, conquering this beast is what made us apply once again and to go the full distance!

– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?

Put our experience from OWR2024 to good use and stay true to our plan, things tend to work well for the first 24 hours and then the real challenge becomes apparent.

– What are your goals if you would participate in One Water Race?

Make it all the way to the lighthouse in Landsort showing that we have learned from our experiences from last year, we are now ready to make it all the way and fight for a spot at the podium! We believe we can put on a show while racing and can prove you can make it all the way while still having fun with your best friends!
