Team 5 – Germany consists of four individual racers who met on Instagram and joined forces to chase their common dream – to compete and win the infamous One Water Race.
Together they form a strong team of athletes from different sporting backgrounds who have all the right skills and experience for the challenge.
– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?
The OWR is the ultimate race and challenge, and a dream for the last couple of years. To experience the beauty of the Stockholm archipelago in a race setting that never existed before is an interesting and attracting combination that motivates every one of us to test our limits.
– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?
Since we are athletes from 3 different countries race preparation will be mainly virtual. Bringing it all together and facing the cold and the water for 2 + days will be the biggest challenge for us. We will also need to adopt our navigation skills quickly to the stereotype of an archipelago (also in consideration of wind and currents).
– What are your goals in participating in One Water Race?
Our ultimate team goal is to finish the race and touch the lighthouse (within the time cap). We know that’s not going to be easy but with our individual strengths we are confident to keep moving efficiently throughout the race.
