About

Team 3 – FRA/USA

What started as a team of strangers quickly turned into something far stronger. Entering last year’s race from completely different backgrounds and without previous experience racing together, they left as a unified team, close friends, and a tightly bonded unit forged through adversity.

Returning after a strong performance and a fifth-place finish, the team now comes back with a deeper understanding of both the race and each other. Built on trust, seamless teamwork, and strong navigation, they proved their ability to push deep into the race before a medical setback forced them to stop — despite knowing they still had more to give.

Driven by the desire to discover their true potential as a team, they focus less on chasing others and more on executing their own race.

– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?

Last year our goal was to get to the lighthouse. This year we want to see what we are capable as a team. We want to be the best of ourselves and that will let us go where we go. We cannot know the timing or how fast the other teams go, but we know that we can give it everything we have and we want to do that, one more time.

– Which strengths make your team capable of succeeding in a race like this?

We worked seamlessly as a team, we enjoyed racing with each other. We pushed each other and stood strong helping each other. Our navigation was great and we put ourselves in position to keep pushing before we had our medical issue. We knew physically we were ready to go another 30 hours.

– What are your weaknesses or areas of concern in this type of challenge?

We are not as fast as the fast teams, they are quicker on land. Jess is going to work on her lungs, we are also going to look at options for if the same conditions present themselves, cold in the air and having to stay in wetsuits. We know that we are capable of going the entire 250km, we know we can push ourselves for 60 hours, we just hope we can stay close enough to the fast teams trying to eliminate us to be able to continue.

– What goals does your team have for participating in One Water Race?

The goal is always to touch the lighthouse, but we have to be realistic in that only 4 teams have ever finished the race in 4 years. Our goal is to go and work together as a team, accept the challenges as they come, communicate well and push as long as we are able to stay in the race. We want to touch the lighthouse, but in reality we need to focus on the small things to be able to get to the end.

– Have you raced together as a team before? If yes, in what races?

One Water Race 2025 – 5th place.

– Is there anything else you would like to share?

This race is an amazing experience, we love competing, but most of all we love the people, the enthusiasm and the fact that this race is tough and hard to figure out.
