About

TEAM 1 – SWEDEN

This Gothenburg-based team consists of the three racers Helen and Anders Wikmar and Alexander Berggren. They are a very “swim strong” team, and they aim to swim as much as possible and show how effective this is. Helen and Anders have extensive experience in endurance training and in particular Swimrun. Alexander is a professional triathlete and Swimrunner and has been part of the National Open Water Team. Their support crew and fourth team member is Nanna Bergendahl, a very experienced orienteer and navigator, who has done many long swimruns and multisport races.

– Why do you want participate in One Water Race?

We want to participate in One Water Race because we love pushing the limits and we love spending time in nature. The ocean and the archipelago is our second home. We are a very “swim strong” team and we will try to push the swims and swim as much as possible. We think that is a winning tactic. The journey towards the race is important for us. However, we want to race and try to win.

– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?

Our biggest challenge will be the orientation part. However, we feel comfortable that we will be ready on race day. Anders is going to be our head navigator and has lots of experience. Helen and Alex have not that much experience, but we will work hard this year to learn as much as possible because we all need some great navigation knowledge.

– What are your goals if you would participate in One Water Race?

We want to reach the lighthouse in Landsort. We also want to show everyone else that our tactic with lots of swimming is the fastest and best way to reach Landsort. We love racing and we always want to do our very best and finish as high as possible.
