About

Team 1 – AUSTRALIA

You’ve seen them before. With a strong background in adventure racing and endurance, this team has proven their grit, reaching Landsort Lighthouse for the past three years—a feat no other team has accomplished. They claimed the top podium spot as the winning team of OWR 2023 and secured second place in both 2022 and 2024. But they’re far from done! This time, Rob Preston, Elizabeth Dornom, Glenn Wilkinson, and support crew Julian Dent are competing as Team 1.

– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?

OWR has been an amazing experience for us. The organisation and the mission of One Water itself is a driving factor in bringing us back. Of course we are a very competitive bunch too, so we do not want to miss another opportunity to take part in this unique challenge and prove we have got what it takes to win again!

– What would be your biggest challenge as a team?

Despite having finished OWR previously, a challenge as big as this must not be taken lightly and we are sure the competition is going to be faster, tougher and push us to our limits. The unpredictable weather and water temperature during the race can also not be underestimated and will indeed prove a huge challenge for us to overcome if we want to get to Landsort.

– What are your goals if you would participate in One Water Race?

Our goal has always been firstly to get to the Lighthouse in Landsort and perform at our best as a team. We are striving to continue to improve so that we are stronger and smarter than previous years to be on the top step of the podium!
