1. Athlete conduct
All athletes must:
- Compete with integrity and sportsmanship.
- Prioritize their own safety and the safety of others.
- Stay within 10 meters of their teammate at all times during the race (team races).
- Assist others in emergencies or when requested by race staff.
- Provide help to injured or ill competitors whenever possible.
- Know and follow all race rules and instructions from race staff.
- Obey traffic laws and directions from marshals.
- Treat all staff, spectators, the public, and fellow athletes with respect.
- Avoid political, religious, or racial expressions — violations may result in disqualification.
- Use respectful language at all times.
- Inform race staff immediately if withdrawing from the race.
- Not accept help from non-participants, unless explicitly permitted.
- Not litter or leave any equipment on the course — penalties apply.
- Avoid gaining unfair advantages (e.g., drafting behind vehicles).
- Stay on the marked course — knowing the route is each athlete’s responsibility.
- Participate at their own risk — the organizers are not liable for injury or accidents.
- Only receive assistance (e.g., food, hydration, pacing) from designated support zones, if allowed.
2. Anti-Doping Policy
All participants must:
- Comply with anti-doping rules and be available for testing at any time.
- Cooperate fully and respectfully during any doping control.
- Regularly check the WADA Prohibited List for banned substances.
- Inform medical professionals about their anti-doping responsibilities.
- Declare any medically necessary banned substances and provide medical proof at registration.
Violations include:
- Refusing or evading testing
- Tampering with testing procedures
- Failing to sign required anti-doping agreements
- Testing positive for prohibited substances
Consequences may include disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, suspension, or a lifetime ban. All decisions are final.
3. Entry Requirements
Events may be canceled for health or safety reasons. If so, organizers will offer a partial refund (with at least 4 weeks’ notice).
All participants must:
- Have valid insurance.
- Understand that entry fees are non-refundable.
- May change one team member, if applicable.
- Not transfer or resell entries privately or defer entries to future events unless permitted.
- Present valid photo ID at registration.
4. Age requirements
- Athletes must be 18 years or older.
- Athletes under 18 must provide signed parental or guardian consent.
5. Timing Rules
Race time is calculated from start to finish line.
All athletes must:
- Pass all timing checkpoints (if applicable).
- Team members must cross all checkpoints and the finish line together.
- Wear and return the timing chip at the finish — a fee will apply for non-returns.
- If issued, GPS trackers must be returned after the race — or a replacement fee will be charged.
6. Equipment Rules
6.1 General
All gear must be carried from start to finish — nothing can be dropped.
Random checks may be conducted before or during the race
6.1 Mandatory Equipment – Teams
Each team must carry:
- 1 waterproof-packed first aid pressure bandage
- 2 wetsuits (one per athlete; not required if water temperature > 20°C)
- 2 whistles (one per athlete)
- 2 reusable drinking cups or soft flasks
6.4 Provided by Organizers
- Race bib (must be clearly visible during the race)
- Timing chip
- Swim cap (must be worn during swim segments)
- GPS tracker (if applicable)
6.5 Equipment Restrictions
- Maximum pull buoy size: 32 × 30 × 15 cm
- No external markings or paint on wetsuits or buoys
- Maximum swim fin length: 15 cm (tip to toe)
7. Penalties
Violations may result in:
- Time penalties
- Disqualification
- Suspension or permanent ban from future events
Penalty severity is determined by the race jury or director.
8. Jury & Protests
- The race jury includes the race director and two additional officials.
- All jury decisions are final.
- If rules are unclear, decisions will be based on fairness and common sense.
Protests must be submitted in writing within 1 hour of finishing, and include:
- Time and location of the incident
- Bib numbers involved
- Reason for protest
- Names of witnesses (if any)
9. Force Majeure
Organizers and participants are not responsible for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond control, such as:
- Severe weather
- Natural disasters
- Public health emergencies
- Strikes or government restrictions
