– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
It is a monster of a race I experienced in 2024. The highs you get after the lows are extremely addictive, and so is taking on such a huge challenge as One Water Race. I feel very safe and secure in our team and I really believe we have capacity to make it the whole way in 2025.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
Last year’s One Water Race was my first several day race and it was one of my best race experiences. It was such an amazing feeling to realize the capacity of our human body and minds together with a team.
– What are your strengths?
My strongest element and strength is without a doubt swimming in this race. But I am also capable of racing for many hours and of disposing my energy to be able to last long. Having a strong mental game and contributing with positive energy and mental strategy are other strengths I contribute to our team.
– What are your weaknesses?
My weakness is when the dark comes in and my whole body starts to indicate night mode and sleep. I really struggle at night and need the support of my team when those sleep hormones kick in. I also need to remind myself to stick to our plan and not focus too much on other teams or comparing myself to others.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Will be night number two when the sleep deprivation starts to kick in properly and the first day’s race dopamine leaves the body. Even though I love swimming I also see the swim over Danziger Gatt as a huge challenge and there are some tough mental monsters regarding this swim within me.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
Yes, I have, on several occasions during both training and racing. Such a beautiful place and this strikes me every time!
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
The training and the planning together with the team. Helping each other in both high and lows throughout the whole race and pushing through as a team.. Most of all , knocking our hands on that lighthouse door together.
