Q&A
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
I look forward to embracing a new challenge far beyond what I have undertaken in the past, if I get the opportunity to be at the starting line I will give it my all and test the limits of my determination and physical endurance. I see this as an ultimate test. Through hardship comes clarity and thankfulness.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
No, not to this level and that is what excites me. I have done a lot of Swimrun races and long sessions which I truly love but this would really be on a completely different level.
– What are your strengths?
I have worked as a Captain on larger vessels for 10 years, this gave me a lot of navigational experience and also good planning for optimal routes on the ocean. I'm calm and down to earth, I don't hesitate or get stressed so easily. Taking charge of the navigation of the team is a major advantage. I'm a good swimrunner and having Alexander Berggren as our Lead Swimmer and Helen makes us a strong swimming team. I'm also very good at running trails.
– What are your weaknesses?
Linked to my strengths I don’t give up and can push myself really far, sometimes even too far. I find that I can motivate myself to keep on pushing through extreme hardships and while doing so have no thought of quitting.
– What would be your biggest challenges in this race?
Im very positive all the time and need to balance that with my teammates over such a long race. Luckily I know them really well as one is my partner since 16 years and the other is a friend I have been racing with in the past.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago and what do you know/think about the terrain?
Yes, I have done three ÖtillÖ WC and Utö World Series two times. I’m well versed in the terrain and the local conditions. In addition to this I’m born and raised on the west coast of Sweden with its unforgiving rocks and stormy seas. I have been working in archipelagos on vessels around Europe for 10 years charting the seafloor.
– What are you most looking forward to, if you would participate in One Water Race?
To face the ultimate test of willpower and physical endurance together with a fantastic team, who could wish for anything else?
