BRIGGEN TRE KRONOR

Briggen Tre Kronor is a unique ship, built according to the drawings for HMS Gladen (the Swedish Navy’s training vessel from 1857-1924). The ship is owned and managed by Expedition Baltic Sea.

The expedition is based on goal 14.1, of the UN’s global sustainability goals, which aims to reduce all kinds of pollution in the sea, in particular from land-based activities, including marine litter and the supply of nutrients.

Expedition Baltic Sea operates by educating young people and the general public to increase their understanding of why our decision-makers must act to save the Baltic Sea. In this way, we can recreate a functioning relationship between society and the sea.

Alkylate gasoline is increasingly recommended as the first choice by many manufacturers of small engines. Aspen alkylate gasoline contains up to 99% fewer harmful hydrocarbons than regular gasoline. Our fuel is not only better for our lakes and oceans but also for your outboard engine and for you as the driver. Aspen alkylate gasoline is a more efficient fuel with a shelf life ten times longer than regular gasoline.

STOP FUELING THE SEA

Did you know that up to 30% of the gasoline in a two-stroke engine with a carburettor is released straight into the water? Unfortunately, over 150,000 of these outdated and environmentally damaging engines remain on recreational boats in the archipelago and in our lakes.

Although the new sale of two-stroke engines with carburettors has been prohibited since 2006, there are still many on our leisure boats. Almost every fifth boat engine is actually a two-stroke carbureted engine.

What can I do? The answer is simple – you can stop running your carbureted two-stroke engine and hand it in for scrapping and the material will be recycled.Preferably change to an electric motor, four-stroke or modern two-stroke if you want a new engine.

Stop fueling the Sea is an initiative from: The Stockholm County Administrative Board in collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, the Swedish Transport Agency, Båtretur, Båtskroten, One Water, SIKO, the Archipelago Foundation, Stena Recycling and Sweboat. The project is financed by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management.

Additionally, Sjöassistans provides practical advice on weather forecasts, bridge and lock opening hours, dining spots, anchoring, and more, all included in the membership.

Safety & Navigationsgruppen is the largest marine educator in the Nordics, offering a comprehensive selection of safety- and navigation-related courses for the merchant shipping as well as private clients.
