Q&A
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
I am doing this more of a challenge to see what I am capable of, I also couldn’t say no when asked to join the athletes I look up to.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
No this will really be a new challenge for me in distance and time, I’m both nervous and excited for the adventure.
– What are your strengths?
My head, I guess I’m stubborn. But also I love to give everything for my team.
– What are your weaknesses?
Inexperience, never raced something as long as this. Not sure my body will hold up over the distance. I race best over 2-3hrs so that is going to be my biggest weakness.
– What will be your biggest challenge?
The distance and the unknown, this is a challenge that is hard to prepare for to know how the body and mind will respond with lack of sleep and such a long distance
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago?
Yes, I haven’t seen so much apart from the ÖtillÖ course 4 times. The rest is unknown territory for me. But not something I’m worried about as I have 2 experienced guides showing me the way.
– What do you know/think about the terrain?
From what I’ve heard it’s tougher than I expected. The parts I have been to have mostly trails, paths, roads however the parts of the archipelago we will be navigating here are going to be untamed and uncharted.
– What are you most looking forward to?
Racing with Kristin and Daniel and share this adventure together.
