Q&A
– Why do you want to participate in One Water Race?
Both the environmental purpose behind it all and the race set-up are unique and appealing to me. I did one adventure before with a bigger meaning than just the race and it really gives an extra flavor. I have dreamt of a long non-stop swimrun for many years and I would have arranged one myself if One Water Race did not come across, but I would have selected a warmer place.
– Have you taken a similar challenge before?
I guess the most similar experience is Adventure racing for more than 100 hours. We also did a long swimrun along the coast in Spain but then we never continued into the night so far from what we will experience in Stockholm.
– What are your strengths?
When it really matters I can be extremely stubborn. I also keep calm and care for my teammates.
– What are your weaknesses?
I do not have a background in swimming but with paddles and float support I will manage.
– What will be your biggest challenge?
I think the biggest challenge will be to keep body temperature throughout the race. I also think it will be a challenge to not fall asleep during the swims at night.
– Have you been to the Stockholm archipelago?
I live on the west coast of Sweden so honestly not often but I have raced the ötillö world championship so I hope to recognize some parts.
– What do you know/think about the terrain?
It is beautiful but you can also tell that the environment needs special care so we and the coming generations can enjoy this beautiful archipelago in the future.
– What are you most looking forward to?
The feeling of being non-stoppable after hours and hours on land and in water.
