”Swims over 1,000 meters were on the edge now, but luckily, Alex only got stronger as the race went on. What we lost on the runs, we made up for with strong swimming. But now, we were losing 30–40 minutes per checkpoint to the other teams. The colder Anders got, the more confused our navigation became.”

This is Team 1️⃣ - Australia 🇦🇺

You’ve seen them before. With a strong adventure racing and endurance background, this team has proven their grit, making it to the Landsort Lighthouse for the last three years, a feat no other team has accomplished. But they’re far from done!

“We will use our experience in ultra-endurance events to balance speed and navigation, ensuring we reach the lighthouse as fast as possible. Rob’s exceptional navigation skills will be complemented by Elizabeth’s all-around physical strengths, along with Glenn’s swimming prowess, which will allow us to keep moving fast and in the right direction. Combine this with Julian’s exceptional organisational and tactical knowledge, and with our team's experience, our goal is to be unbeatable.”

”Time seems to speed up into the second day of racing, the body and mind is in a fluid state of motion, all physical and mental energy is directed to one goal – moving forward. The second night however is a little different, the brain is crying out for sleep while the body keeps on moving. Thankfully, we were in a significantly better state than last year when we hit Ornö and Utö for the long road runs and managed to avoid a repeat of sleep-walking ourselves in the wrong direction. Nobody is immune though, and the simplest navigation became like solving a rubik’s cube for the first time.”

"As we entered into the first night, it was clear that we were falling behind on our pace. We reached CP5 going into the dark of night and we headed straight into “hell island”. On paper, this island isn’t difficult to navigate, but the dense interior of the island makes it challenging to maintain a fast pace and keep your whereabouts. After spending a lot of time on that island, we went into the early hours of the Day 2 morning knowing that we were falling behind."

"Daylight finally hit us with renewed energy and we set out a focus for the day to stay on plan. Being focused in transitions, keep moving steady and keep fueling accordingly. Day 2 took us far out in the archipelago and we enjoyed true Swimrun terrain, actually having a real good time. Everyone in the team was in good condition with no big problems jet to fight."
