”The wind played a big factor throughout the race. There was a consistent headwind that made some of the swims relatively challenging. There were several sections where getting sea sick could have been a real possibility, but we managed to fare pretty well.”

”Moving into the night our mantra was ‘courage and focus’, to keep racing hard but still making good decisions. As we moved efficiently over the infamous hell islands, we continuously built on the great feeling. The darker it got, the better our navigation became. We passed two teams and had an action thrilled night with gnarly, fun terrain and beautiful swims under the blood moon. We were full of energy and high on endorphins.”

”The first day seemed to quickly turn into the first night which then turned into the second day and so on. Highlighted by some amazing Thomas hugs out on course at various points – something we all look forward to immensely. Not to mention warm salty noodles shoved down the front of your wetsuit after a long swim to warm us up and then to be eaten and enjoyed a short time later.”

”As we bushwhacked across that island without course markings, only relying on our map and compass, I knew this was something special. Throughout the morning we skipped across islands, moving swiftly, and confident in our route choices. Our fueling strategy was on, our navigation was good, and we were in high spirits.”

”We were starting to feel a bit chilly, but no big issues yet. The navigation was smooth, the swimming felt strong, and we were keeping to our energy plan perfectly. Team 5 and 4 overtook us on land, but we managed to pass Team 4 in the water again. As we navigated across a longer island, Nanna handed us dinner, and Anders nailed the navigation. Everything felt right and we were in high spirits.”
