One Water Race Stockholm 24HRS

An epic challenge in the heart of Stockholm City

Introduction

A big part of One Water Race is the experience of racing through all hours of the day — morning, day, evening, sunset, night, sunrise — and above all, sharing it with your teammates, the race organization, and officials.

We want more people to have the opportunity to take part in this unique experience. That’s why we’re introducing a new format: a 24-hour race where the team that covers the greatest distance wins.

A clear and simple concept. Man against nature. One Water Race Stockholm 24HRS

The Race

A new format in an urban environment where we get to experience fantastic Stockholm for 24 hours. Start & finish in Kungsträdgården in the heart of Stockholm, a fixed course, 20K, swimming, running, the most laps around Stockholm in 24 hours wins.

Format

In One Water Race Stockholm 24HRS teams race in pairs. The course starts from a start/finish area and the racers then follow a fixed cut course over 20K, of which 75% is running, 25% is swimming. The race is about completing the most laps around the course in 24 hours and the team that has completed the most laps and kilometers is the winner.

A professional class featuring 10 women’s teams and 10 men’s teams. Participation by invitation or application only.

An open class welcoming women’s and men’s teams.

The Course

The format is designed to ensure that both swimming and running abilities are decisive, with swimming distances long enough to challenge participants. The course consists of approximately 75% running and 25% swimming.

The running segment covers over 15 km through an urban environment in central Stockholm. The route is slightly hilly, mostly on asphalt with some gravel sections, and generally easy to run.

The swimming segment covers about 5 km, taking place in Stockholm’s lakes and waterways, primarily Riddarfjärden and Saltsjön. While the water mostly feels like a lake environment, conditions can be challenging in strong winds. Swim distances vary between 200 and 400 meters per segment, with 12 to 15 swim sections in total, including at least one swim stretch exceeding 1,000 meters.

Energy

The race organization is responsible for the teams’ supply of food, energy and water during the 24 hours of the race. In the start/finish area there is hot cooked carbohydrate-rich food, drinks and energy available and every 5 km along the course, but there is also the possibility of personal adaptation and supply in the start/finish area.

Equipment

Each team receives its own plastic box for storing additional equipment, changes and their own energy. The box is stored in the start/finish area and is available at the crossing.

Prize money in the women and men Pro category.
